I can’t see the forest for the trees Always get stuck down in the details Focusing on things I shouldn’t be Getting lost can be so easy I never see the branches for the leaves Until they’re falling all around me Focusing on things I shouldn’t be Until the wider world’s a mystery Looking at the insects in the dirt Don’t notice I’m missing the flowers It’s true that little things can make you hurt But that doesn’t mean they’re worth all your brain power I want to learn to see the forest through the trees To see the biggest picture I can see I want to understand what it all means And not get too distracted by the little things

We got work to do [choppa choppa choppa choppa…] Got the call – they need help Up on the mountain – somebody fell They hurt their leg – they can't walk How they gonna get down to the hospital? We got work to do Got the call – they need assistance A traffic jam – into the distance They need a picture – when will it end? Who do you think – they're gonna send? On the ceiling, I see a fish! Hmm, what is that doing there? Fish don’t belong on the ceiling! Fish belong in the water! I reach up, to touch the fish I reach out, to help it get down.. to the water.. on my toes.. I’m so close!.. just..a..little..further! I don’t belong in the water! I didn’t even bring my swim suit! Get me out of the water! Oh well! It is relaxing...

Do the Jello Jiggle, do the jello jiggle... When I get stuck – I’m really in a pickle But all I gotta do is Jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle jiggle… I jiggle with my fingers I jiggle with my toes I jiggle in all my colorful clothes I jiggle with my arms I jiggle with my legs I jiggle when I'm frying eggs I jiggle when I'm little I jiggle when I'm big I jiggle in my brand new wig I jiggle when I'm hot I jiggle when I'm cold I'll jiggle when I'm 99 years old I jiggle really fast I jiggle really slow I jiggle when I've got nowhere to go I jiggle all day I jiggle all night When I do the Jello Jiggle I lose track of time... Oh! I gotta go!

The road of life is windy my friend, It twists and it turns pretty hard to tell when you’re at a dead end but if you study you might learn Those windy, Kentucky, ridge-line Appalachian roads Have you ever felt so twisted up, you didn’t know right from wrong? Have you ever felt so turned around, you didn’t know the words to the song? That’s those windy, Kentucky, ridge-line Appalachian roads Have you ever felt lost like you’re in the wrong place And the right place is who knows where And you just don’t know how to get from here All the way to there. On those windy, Kentucky, ridge-line Appalachian roads Now, dontcha think there oughta be a tour guide Who shows you where to go? But when some kind soul gives you a map, it's for their own road not yours Well, it’s kind of helpful, but I’m still a little lost! Or maybe you thought that you weren’t concerned ‘bout what would happen next And then you learned that ‘round the turn Was not what you’d expect And then you saw the world change, Right before your eyes And just like that it starts to rain, And you got caught by surprise On those windy, Kentucky, ridge-line Appalachian roads Yes, those windy, Kentucky, rich, complex, amazing Gorgeous, frustrating Ridge-line Appalachian roads.

I know what I’m going to do today I’m gonna learn how to roller skate Wheels on my feet, how hard could it be Wheels on my feet, oh I’ll be free I found these skates at a yard sale last year So it’s about time that I faced my fears Wheels on my feet, dreams in my head Of long rides down the esplanade I’ll wobble at first, & it feels like I’ll fall But if it was easy why do it all? Wheels on my feet, and sweat on my brow Wheels on my feet, I’ll figure out how And If I stumble, well I’ll be okay But I’ll admit I’m still a little afraid Wheels on my feet, might look silly at first Wheels on my feet, but it could be worse And then! There’s a hill! I go down! I can’t stop! Arms out wide! Crouch and tilt! And watch out! For that rock! But it’s worth it to learn how to roller skate One day I’ll blast fast past the people and wave Wheels on my feet, I’m pretty brave Wheels on my feet, I deserve praise ‘Cause I know what I’m going to do today I’m gonna learn how to roller skate Wheels on my feet, how hard could it be If there’s wheels on your feet, you can come follow me...

Someone left the window open! Just a crack Now our home it has been chosen For the dance, the animal dance! First came in a little house fly Heard there was a party on inside It went...buzz buzz... Someone left the window open! Just a crack Now our home it has been chosen For the dance, the animal dance! Then came in a big lion And it was wearing pajamas It went...roar roar... Someone left the window open! Just a crack Now our home it has been chosen For the dance, the animal dance! Then came in a big brown bear It was hairy It went...raah raah... Someone left the window open! Just a crack Now our home it has been chosen For the dance, the animal dance! Then came in the fast, fast cheetah With its little baby cub It went...hisss hisss... Then came the slow, slow turtle Curled up in its shell to sleep (all night) And it snored...zzzz zzzz... Someone left the window open! Just a crack Now our home it has been chosen For the dance, the animal dance! Then came in a new puppy dog And it flushed the toilet Woof woof.... Someone left the window open! Just a crack Now our home it has been chosen For the dance, the animal dance!

about

I'm so excited to share these recordings with you!

I'm finally getting around to recording all this music for kids and families that I've been writing. It was hard to choose which songs to record first, but these are some favorites -- of mine and of the classes I have worked with.
Good music to dance and sing and think to, I hope!

This is the just the start!
